Functional Nutrition & Lifestyle Management with Sheryl Cook.
Are you frustrated that no one seems to have the answers or you may have even been told nothing can be done for your brain fog, bloating memory loss, hair loss and fatigue?
This is a position many people find themselves in, including myself back in 2013. There is a way and there is hope, and scientific research is leading the way with ant- inflammatory / nutrient dense food and lifestyle practices. You do not need to be living with these symptoms and enduring life. In as little as eight weeks you can learn the skills to become your own health advocate and reduce the symptoms you live with.
Take a look here or book a session with Sheryl Cook today to find out how a holistic approach with functional nutrition and lifestyle changes can help you rediscover your wellness.
The Autoimmune Nutritionist
Living with an autoimmune condition can be challenging. In 2013, it hit me in a big way (well to be honest it had been sneaking up on me over a few years hidden behind being a Mum of two young children). I was struggling with bloating, fatigue, loss of hair, even loss of memory. I had unpredictable mood swings, no motivation, no energy to get up (let alone get active to burn off my post-baby weight). I was feeling defeated.
After visiting the doctor, things began to look up. They could give me a diagnosis: subclinical Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. But, while I could now name what was plaguing me, I still couldn’t fight it. My blood tests indicated that my condition didn’t justify medication, so, from a clinical perspective, I was fine. But fine wasn’t fine by me.
With a young family to look after, I couldn’t stand by while my body struggled to function. So, I researched, attended summits, and researched some more. Finally, the world of functional nutrition and lifestyle management was my saviour. After eight months, I was on the mend, and enrolled to become an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and a Functional Nutrition and Lifestyle Practitioner. And later a certified Autoimmune Paleo Coach.
When it comes to autoimmune conditions, I know how it feels to be told there’s nothing to be done. How it feels to have my body deteriorating and feeling powerless to do anything. And how empowering it feels to use nutrition and lifestyle management to take control of my body.
If you’re suffering from an autoimmune disease, get in touch today, and let me help you rediscover your wellness.
What is a Functional Nutrition & Lifestyle Practitioner?
When you visit a regular doctor, they will often refer you to a dietitian when your diet is in need of a little spruce. But, when you’re suffering from an autoimmune condition, sometimes it’s more than your diet that needs to change.
When you visit a functional medicine doctor, their first port of call for nutrition management is a functional nutritionist and lifestyle practitioner, because they look at the bigger picture.
While a dietitian may address the treatment of an illnesses through the use of food and medicine, a functional nutritionist will take a more holistic approach. This means they will look at an individual’s lifestyle and personal needs, to help them implement sustainable nutritional and lifestyle changes.
At my practice, Sheryl Cook, I work with clients to understand their health journey through a Functional Nutrition Timeline and Matrix (to see an overview, take a look at my video). Together, we address the issue at the root of the problem, to not only combat immediate symptoms, but also to prevent future symptoms from arising.
If you have any questions about how I work, or about what functional nutrition can do for you, feel free to get in touch, or ask away in a complementary strategy session found below.
